What makes SALES the best profession for personal growth?

My leadership career started in sales, which I appreciate every day.
I’ve said this many times and I’ll say it again: I believe sales is one of the best professions in the world for personal development because it drives you to:
Clearly bring up your strengths and limitations, including what you are really afraid of (this is good because you can work on improving!).
Learn how to adapt yourself to people and situations...And take deep breaths.
Ask tough questions - After you’ve been in sales, you can ask anything to anyone!
Present yourself at your best - People only buy from people they like, so smiling and active listening will be part of who you are.
Get rewarded according to how relentless you are at improving yourself and reaching your goals.
People in sales are true gems. An organization that’s able to see this, and invest in supporting their professional and personal development will see the results in profitability and future leadership.
The Perfect Ground for Growth
The pursuit of revenue provides a perfect practice ground for the ultimate personal growth of every individual in the business, this is one important reason why 1) great leaders come from sales and
2) that everyone that’s part of the organization must experience doing sales at one point, including top level executives.
A highly developmental organization gets this and provides a thoughtful and intentional platform for the overall win: People and Business.
If you are in sales:
-Does your organization help you identify a personal limitation that’s meaningful for your success and the success of the business?
-What kind of support are you given to overcome these limitations?
-When you have taken steps to get better at these challenges, do you get recognized for it and get opportunities to keep growing?
-Are the leaders in your organization invested in their own personal development? Do you know what they are working on to become better people and leaders?
This should be the standard. Great organizations must provide an environment of developmental focus at every level in the organization.
